Continue to watch for:
Selfishness, Dishonesty, Resentment, Fear
When they crop up I ask God to remove them. I call my sponsor immediately and make amends quickly if I have harmed anyone. Then I resolutely turn my thoughts to someone I can help. Love, kindness, patience, and tolerance is my code.
With respect to alcohol and sex, I feel as though I have been placed in a position of neutrality – safe and protected. I am neither cocky nor am I afraid. This is how I react so long as I keep in fit spiritual condition.
I am not cured of my addictions. What I have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of my spiritual condition. Every day is a day when I must carry the vision of God’s will into all of my activities. “How can I best serve Thee—Thy will (not mine) be done.” These are the thoughts that must go with me constantly. This is the proper use of the will.
10th Step Prayer
I pray I may continue:
To grow in understanding and effectiveness; to take daily spot-check inventories of myself; to correct mistakes when I make them; to take responsibility for my actions; to be ever aware of my negative and self-defeating attitudes and behaviors; to keep my willfulness in check; to always remember I need Your help; to keep love and tolerance of others as my code; and to continue in daily prayer how I can best serve You, my Higher Power.
