 Prayer

Surrender to what is -- Let go of what was  -- Have faith in what will be!

 Depend on God

Work as if everything depends upon you and pray as if everything depends upon God. -- St. Ignatius

 Habits

If you form good habits, good habits start to form you.

 Answer too...

It's not what they call you -- it's what you answer too!

 Hate Somebody

If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself.

-- Herman Hesse

 One Day at a Time -

"One day at a time, sweet Jesus!"  Whoever wrote that hadn't a clue.  A day is a fuckin' eternity!

― Roddy Doyle, Paula Spencer

 Manipulation

My road to hell is paved with good manipulation!

 Relationships

Relationships are like putting miracle grow on my character defects.

 God's Gift to You and Your Gift to God

What you are is God’s gift to you, what you make of yourself is your gift to God.

 Consequences

You choose your behavior, but the world chooses your consequences!

 Today is all that matters

If you have one foot in yesterday and the other in tomorrow -- then you're pissing all over today!

 Problems

All of my problems become smaller when I confront them.

 Wisdom

Wisdom is in the heart, not simply in the head. It is listening, discerning and seeking what is right. Wisdom is a gift from God for the good of all his people.

 Keeping the Faith

You can get the monkey off your back, but the circus never leaves town.

― Anne Lamott, Grace (Eventually): Thoughts on Faith

 Work to Do

You were sick, but now you're well again, and there's work to do.

― Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake

 No matter what ...

Darling you'll be okay.

― vic fuentes

 Trust -

The strange part about a person’s lack of trust is that it often comes from not trusting themselves.

― David W. Earle

 Love Yourself-

Love yourself unconditionally. Do what you love to do. Be grateful for what you do have. Happiness is an attitude of gratitude. Love all of life.

― Jan Porter, Sacred Space, body mind soul after sexual abuse

 Offer it Up!

When night comes, and retrospect shows that everything was patchwork and much that one had planned left undone, when so many things rouse shame and regret, then take all as is, lay it in God's hands, and offer it up to Him.  In this way we will be able to rest in Him, actually to rest and to begin the new day like a new life.

-- St. Edith Stein

 Never Despair ...

Keep faith, the bad things that we experience in life are always in service of a greater good.   But the greater good happens in God's way, on God's timetable. This means we should never despair; never give up even when catastrophe strikes. The entire process is being watched and supervised by God.

 Prayer for Humor and Humility

Let me have too deep a sense of humor ever to be proud. Let me know my absurdity before I act absurdly. Let me realize that when I am humble I am most human, most truthful, and most worthy of your serious consideration.

—Daniel A. Lord, S.J.

 Two Endeavors --

Recovery consists simply of two things, two endeavors, -- the endeavor to know God's will and the endeavor to do it when we know it.

 Three Things to Do Everyday

To me there are three things everyone should do every day. Number one is laugh. Number two is think -- spend some time time in thought. Number three, you should have your emotions move you to tears. If you laugh, think and cry, that's a heck of a day. -- Jim Valvano

Pride

My Name is Pride

by Beth Moore

My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
I cheat you of your God-given destiny…
because you demand your own way.
I cheat you of contentment…
because you “deserve better than this.”
I cheat you of knowledge…
because you already know it all.
I cheat you of healing…
because you are too full of you to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness…
because you refuse to admit when you are wrong.
I cheat you of vision…
because you’d rather look in the mirror than out a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship…
because nobody’s going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love…
because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in heaven…
because you refuse to wash another’s feet on earth.
I cheat you of God’s glory…
because I convinced you to seek your own.
My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I’m always looking out for you.
Untrue.
I’m looking to make a fool of you.
God has so much for you, I admit, but don’t worry…
If you stick with me you’ll never know
